Implementation of joint representation structure to strengthen growth strategies in the UK and global markets

To strengthen its future growth strategy and  optimise business expansion, ARK Inc.  (hereinafter referred to as ARK) has introduced a  joint leadership structure with representatives  based in the UK and Japan. ARK WORLDWIDE  LTD., headquartered in London, will serve as the  global headquarters, with Yosuke Kurihara  appointed as the Global Representative. Koyo  Takeshita from ARK will assume the role of Japan  Representative.

The organisational change aims to effectively  achieve strategic goals in the global market, with  the UK serving as a strategic base, while  simultaneously fostering business growth in  Japan. This adjustment allows us to promptly  respond to the rapidly evolving trends in the global  land-based aquaculture market and enhance our  presence. By leveraging our strengths in small scale, decentralised, land-based recirculating  aquaculture systems, which form the core of  "Micro Aquaculture*," we aim to further promote  its adoption and strengthen our competitiveness in  the market.

Under this new leadership, ARK will intensify its  global expansion efforts while driving growth in  the Japanese market. We are committed to  accelerating our business activities further to  contribute to the development of land-based  aquaculture and the fisheries industry, addressing  both opportunities and challenges in these  sectors.

Yosuke Kurihara

Born in 1985, Yosuke comes from Chigasaki in  Kanagawa

Prefecture, Japan. Yosuke joined Dentsu Inc. in  2008, after graduating from the State University of  New York. In 2015, he joined the Uhuru  Corporation and became the Representative  Director of the Overseas Headquarters based in  London. In 2020, he co-founded ARK Inc. with  Takeshita and Yoshida. His hobbies include free  diving, bushcraft camping, and Muay Thai. His  favourite fish is the Japanese char.

*: Micro Aquaculture

Small-scale, land-based aquaculture businesses  utilising the compact, decentralised, land-based  aquaculture system called ARK.

They are inspired by the “microbreweries” that  started in the UK in the 1970s. The high quality  and diversity of beers produced by small-scale

producers created demand for “craft beer”, which  quickly expanded the market base and influenced  various related industries. The spread of small  brewing equipment spurred commercialisation.  Locally produced crops and products can be used  in the aquaculture process to produce original  local fish and company brands. Through the need  for processing, distributing and preparing the  aquatic products, new businesses can be born.

ARK focuses on the mission of "decentralising  aquaculture" by offering a system where  aquaculture can be conducted anywhere by  anyone. We develop and sell small-scale,  decentralised Closed Recirculating Aquaculture  System (CRAS) known as "ARK," which is a land based, closed-loop aquaculture system. Unlike  existing large-scale aquaculture systems, this  system allows starting decentralised aquaculture  with minimum investment and operation costs.  “ARK” is capable of operating off-grid by utilising  renewable energy, significantly reducing energy  costs and environmental impact. In addition to  these hardware solutions, ARK Inc. also provides  the remote management application

"STARBOARD BY ARK" essential for aquaculture  operations, along with supplies, fry, and  aquaculture expertise.
